Volunteer and Intern Information

Who can volunteer?

You!! Anyone may volunteer with Scranton Today as long as you meet the following requirements:

  • You are at least sixteen years old.
  • You are willing to learn.
  • You are excited about television and about making a difference in Scranton.

What type of intern program is available?

The current intern program is a non-credit internship. The station is in the process of pursuing a for-credit internship. Throughout our first year of existence, we had sixteen dedicated interns from the University of Scranton and Marywood University. Please contact the scrantontoday@albright.org for additional information.

Do I need prior experience?

No. Scranton Today staff and fellow volunteers will train you to work with our state-of-the-art digital equipment. Do not feel embarrassed by a lack of experience. Most of the staff and volunteers at Scranton Today started the same way!!

How often do I volunteer?

You volunteer when you are willing and able. Scranton Today will work around your schedule. There are no time requirements. The volunteer schedule is established on a weekly basis.

Can I volunteer for a specific program?

Contact the station manager to volunteer for a specific program shoot. The volunteer positions are filled on a first-come first-serve basis.
